Aston Villa owner says club are more prepared than ever.

Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has told how he believes Aston Villa are more prepared than ever for the upcoming transfer window.

Speaking on Twitter he explained that meticulous work is underway behind the scenes to put the club in the best position to succeed on the pitch, and managed to take a swipe at the former ownership and management too.

Xia said he hopes the staff can meet the requirements laid out by manager Steve Bruce, adding that more detailed internal discussions at the club will help set them on track to get into the promotion race.

In response a Villa supporter made a quip about unpopular former chief executive Tom Fox, which prompted Xia to state quite bluntly that this Aston Villa regime is based on actions, and not only words.

Xia has certainly made his presence felt so far at the club after taking over in the summer, and is onto his second manager already, with results under Roberto di Matteo disappointing.

In the summer Xia committed substantial funds to sign strikers Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia, along with a number of other deals which included Tommy Elphick, Aaron Tshibola and Mile Jedinak.

Results have shown this season that Villa need further improvement, and Steve Bruce will have to mould the squad as he wishes to do so. Xia looks set to give him the platform to do that.
