Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has sent a message on Twitter to the club’s fans, telling the club’s fans to get behind new manager Steve Bruce tomorrow for his first game in charge of the club.

Aston Villa appointed the former Hull City manager earlier this week, following the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo.

Bruce took over on Thursday and will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in a derby match tomorrow which will be shown live on TV.

Xia’s message on Twitter explained how he would be watching the game on telly and would be looking to see his new manager get a very warm welcome from his new fans at Villa Park:

There has been some concern about the reaction Bruce may get at Villa, considering his previous history as a very successful manager at biggest rivals Birmingham City.

However, despite a small pocket of fans, most Villa supporters understand the need for the club to start rising up the Championship and see Bruce as an expert at this level of the game.

He will hope to start winning over any further doubters with a win v Wolves tomorrow evening.
