Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has hardly featured this season due to a combination of injuries and lack of fitness, but he took to his official Instagram account today, and provided a defiant message to his doubters.
The 30-year-old last played for the Villans on January 21st, during a 2-2 draw with Preston North-End.
And in what has been a woeful campaign for the club, Agbonlahor has failed to score in 12 appearances, with many people writing him off as being well past his best.
He took to his official Instagram account today, however, posting a picture of himself training accompanied by the message:
“When they think ur finished but you come back fighting. Last stage of rehab nearly done see u soon.”
For someone who seemed to have such a bright future ahead of him with the Midlands club, when he burst onto the scene as just a teenager in 2004, his demise has proved to be difficult viewing.
His time in the game is far from finished, however, and at just 30 years of age, he still has years ahead of him where he can turn things around, and prove himself to be a useful asset for Steve Bruce’s side.
