Aston Villa now want to sign Brennan Johnson with Newcastle also interested in the Nottingham Forest forward.
The Villans and the Magpies – according to Football Transfers – are fans of the Wales international following his excellent debut campaign in the Premier League.
However, a deal for Brennan Johnson will not be easy by any means.
What’s the story?
Well, Football Transfers believe Nottingham Forest will simply ignore any offers for their No.20 if they manage to avoid relegation to the Championship.
As things stand, Steve Cooper’s side sit 16th in the Premier League, three points above the relegation zone with three games remaining.

Aston Villa and Newcastle have taken an interest in Johnson after he netted ten goals in 40 appearances so far in his debut campaign as a Premier League player, with eight of those coming in England’s top-flight.
The 21-year-old’s efforts have been crucial in helping Nottingham Forest keep their head above water in the relegation battle, and if they do survive, those at the City Ground would surely demand a huge fee given the fact he is contracted until June 2026.
Aston Villa & Newcastle have hope of signing Brennan Johnson
If Nottingham Forest are relegated, Aston Villa and Newcastle’s chances of signing Johnson would increase significantly – looking at the fixture list, there is a strong chance of that happening.
Cooper must attempt to get something from upcoming clashes against Chelsea, Arsenal and Crystal Palace, which is not the easiest end to the season by any means.
To make matters worse, the encounters with Chelsea and Crystal Palace are away from the City Ground, so Nottingham Forest won’t even have the support of their home fans to help them.
If relegation does happen, a player of Johnson’s quality surely won’t stay in the Championship.
Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as anything could happen this summer.
