Aston Villa are keen on Barcelona winger Ansu Fati, though they face competition from Arsenal and two other Premier League clubs.

That is according to a report from 90min.

It claims that Aston Villa are interested in Ansu Fati but are not convinced that the 20-year-old actually wants to leave Barcelona this summer.

The same outlet also states that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Fati as well, which could be another problem for the Villans.

Even if Villa fail to sign Fati, the Midlands club can still be pleased with the transfer window that they have had.

Unai Emery has managed to strengthen multiple areas of his squad this summer, including his attack after bringing in Moussa Diaby and Nicolo Zaniolo.

Ansu Fati joining Aston Villa would be a surprise

Villa are certainly in a good place under Emery right now, finishing seventh in the Premier League table last season to qualify for the Europa Conference League.

They have also made some big signings, adding the likes of Pau Torres and Youri Tielemans to their squad on top of Diaby.

Even so, it is hard to imagine the Villans landing Fati amid Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham’s interest in the Spain international.

If they can land him, though, he could be a really exciting addition to their squad.

“Ansu is one of these players that are born with that talent and that magic,” his team-mate Eric Garcia said last year when talking about the attacker.

Ultimately, it is easy to see why Fati is attracting so much interest from the Premier League. He is a talented player who has time to get better given that he is still just 20 years of age.

It will now be interesting to watch how this plays out and whether any of his suitors can land him before the transfer window closes.
