Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are reportedly trying to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Aston Villa are interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

The Italian publication has claimed that Villa have made contact regarding Vlahovic and have made enquiries about a potential deal for the Serbia international striker.

Juventus want €80 million (£69.19 million) in transfer fees for the 23-year-old £215,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker, who is “a complete centre-forward” and “has physique, a sense for goal, good technique, progression and aerial skills”, according to Lecce director Pantaleo Corvino in La Gazzetta dello Sport, as transcribed by Football Italia.

Aston Villa very ambitious about Dusan Vlahovic

We do not think that Aston Villa will be able to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

With clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly holding talks with the agent of the striker earlier this summer, Villa have their work cut out.

Vlahovic is unlikely to leave one of the biggest and most successful Italian clubs to join a Villa team who may not even challenge for the UEFA Champions League places in the Premier League table next season.

Yes, Villa are reportedly on the verge of signing Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, but that does not mean that they will be able to get one of the most in-demand strikers in European football as well.

Vlahovic scored 10 goals and gave two assists in 22 Serie A starts for Juventus last season.

During the 2021-22 season, the Serbia international striker scored 17 goals and gave two assists in 21 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina, and scored seven goals and provided one assist in 12 Serie A starts for Juve.
