Australia’s Mile Jedinak (R)
Aston Villa have been busy in the transfer market this summer in an attempt to earn immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
Big money moves for strikers Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia have also been ably supported with transfers further down the pecking order.

Such as the arrival of Mile Jedinak from Crystal Palace.
The move was something of a surprise, considering Jedinak’s standing at Selhurst Park. But it also looked a shrewd piece of business from Villa – bringing in a robust and experienced midfield operator to strengthen up the side.
He has been speaking about his move whilst away on international duty with Australia this week. The Syndey Morning Herald quote him as having this to say about the Aston Villa transfer:
“If you understand the magnitude of how big a football club Aston Villa is, there’s a lot to be excited about.
Mile Jedinak celebrates with Jonny Williams after scoring their third goal
“There’s great ambition there to return to the Premier League.
“I know from experience that it will never be easy but that’s the challenge and one I will give my all to.”
Villa fans will no doubt be pleased to hear such a comment from their new signing.
Jedinak is seen by many as being key to Villa’s hopes of promotion back to the Premier League and if he can play with the same passion and ability he did at Palace, Villa know they are on to a winner.
