The towering centre-back, on loan from Bournemouth, has become a fan favourite at Villa Park and has helped the Villans into the Championship playoffs.

Aston Villa defender Neil Taylor has piled the praise on teammate Tyrone Mings for his time on loan at the club from Bournemouth and described the relationship between loan club and player as “the perfect match”.
The towering centre-back has been a rock in the heart of Villa’s defence, and his performances have played a huge part in the team’s winning streak which has sealed a Championship playoff spot and put them three games away from the Premier League.
You’ll struggle to find a Villa fan who doesn’t want Mings to be snapped up on a permanent basis, such is the impact he’s had on the team, not to mention his affable, down-to-earth personality, making him a fan favourite despite his short time at B6.
However, Cherries boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that he will be sitting down with his player at the end of the season to discuss his future (Daily Echo), and you could hardly blame him for potentially wanting to give the defender a first-team stint given how far he’s come in these past few months.
When asked by the official Villa website about the impact Mings has had at the club, Taylor replied: “I just think, first and foremost, he’s been a very good player. In my eyes, that’s the biggest influence you can have.
“I think the football club has been good for him, too. He’s come here and he’s playing games week-in and week-out. That’s what he wanted and what he needed. It’s been the perfect match. It’s gone so well for him.”

Taylor’s comments suggest that all the right ingredients are in place for Mings to at least seriously consider a permanent switch, as he is getting what he wants as a professional footballer and the club has also been good to him.
Admittedly, if Howe is able to guarantee Mings first-team football in the Premier League next term, that could sway things, especially if Villa don’t go up, but given how well things are going for him at the West Midlands club, as disclosed by Taylor, there is always that hope.
