Vaulks is a reported target for the likes of Norwich City, Stoke City and Derby County.

It is likely to be an interesting January transfer window for Rotherham captain Will Vaulks as the midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season – and Aston Villa should make it a window to remember.
The Daily Mail claim Norwich City, Stoke City and Derby County are all interested in the 25-year-old, who has starred for The Millers this season – scoring four goals and creating three more from holding midfield.
With his contract set to expire in the summer, Rotherham must weigh up whether they want to bring in a cash sum for Vaulks – or risk losing him at the end of the campaign for nothing.
If they want money for his services, then they will have to let him go in January and one of the three sides will be looking to land him. It is believed £1.5million will be enough for his services.
But Aston Villa have to throw their hat into the ring for the former Falkirk midfielder, who joined the Championship side in the summer of 2016. That is because veteran duo Glenn Whelan and Mile Jedinak’s contracts expire in June.
The duo are both aged 34 and are unlikely to win a new deal, with both players hardly first-team regulars. However, their presence still requires replacing, and the leadership and quality of Vaulks would be perfect.

At such a bargain price, Vaulks would be an excellent January addition to what is already a very strong squad. Indeed, he would give Villa’s promotion push a bit of steel and charisma come the second half of the season.
But maybe just as importantly, signing Vaulks will mean Villa’s promotion rivals in Norwich, Derby and Stoke will not gain the services of the in-form midfielder – acting as a double boost for the Midlands outfit.
£1.5million is a snip for Vaulks, and Villa must join the race for his signature.
