James Collins is said to be keen to move to Aston Villa to link up with Steve Bruce.

Aston Villa need to pull the trigger quickly, if they are to sign James Collins ahead of Ipswich Town.

The Birmingham Mail have reported how Collins is still training with Ipswich, despite the defender reportedly wanting a move to Villa.

The Telegraph claim that Collins wants to move to Villa, and he has put off signing for Ipswich in the hope that Steve Bruce’s side will come in for him.

But with the Welshman still training with Ipswich, there is surely only so long that he can hold on without penning a deal at Portman Road.

Villa now must make their minds up on whether to go for Collins, or keep looking at other targets.

Bruce is known to want a centre-back to add to his squad, as he looks to strengthen his defensive options, and Collins is one of the few available options.

Collins is currently a free agent, following the expiration of his contract at West Ham United, and he would offer Villa’s squad a great deal of experience if he was to sign.
