Aston Villa are said to want to sign Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.

Aston Villa have put pressure on themselves to win the race for Tammy Abraham now.

Villa are known to want to a new striker this summer, with Steve Bruce looking to improve his attacking options.

Villa were said to be looking at Sam Gallagher and Lukas Nmecha, but they have now failed to get either of them snapped up.

Southampton boss Mark Hughes has confirmed to the Daily Echo that Gallagher won’t be leaving on loan, while Nmecha has joined Preston North End instead.

It leaves Abraham is the only available target left on Villa’s initial wishlist.

The Birmingham Mail have reported how Villa want to get the Chelsea forward in to increase competition for places up-front.

But if Villa do fail to get a deal for Abraham over the line, Bruce could have to go right back to the drawing board, in his search for attacking additions.
