The Aston Villa keeper has been linked with a return to Italy.
Steve Bruce has been Aston Villa manager for a little over a month and it seems as if the 55-year-old can do no wrong so far.
He has helped to breathe fresh life into a Villans side who had won just one of their first 11 Championship games under Roberto Di Matteo, with their promotion hopes looking grim.
But fast forward some four weeks and Aston Villa sit five points adrift of the playoffs after Bruce managed three wins in five league outings, including a first away victory in 14 months.

Indeed, the former Hull City boss has endeared himself to the club’s fanbase in fine fashion, but will his popularity take something of a hit in January?
If rumours are to be believed, then Villa goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini will leave to join Juventus in January if Bruce brings in Eldin Jakupovic, according to Italian publication CalcioNews24.
Bruce knows exactly what Jakupovic is capable of, having managed him at Hull, but Gollini looks to be maturing into a fine keeper for Aston Villa and losing him would be a mistake.

At 21, the Italian seems like he has a very promising future in front of him, and if Juve do want him then it should tell the former Birmingham boss that he is probably worth hanging on to.
In contrast, Jakupovic has not had much of a career in English football and at 32, how much better can he get?
Gollini, a £4 million signing from Hellas Verona in the summer, endured a mixed start but he is getting better on a match-by-match basis, and it makes perfect sense for Bruce to see just how good the youngster can be for Aston Villa.
