Aston Villa decided against bringing in Oliver McBurnie due to his lack of experience.

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce may have made an error overlooking Oliver McBurnie in the January transfer window, as the youngster continues to impress at Barnsley.
McBurnie was considered by Villa earlier this year, but Bruce decided against moving for the Swansea City striker.

While Grabban has done a stellar job for Villa, McBurnie could have been even better – judging by his form in the Championship.
The 21-year-old has smashed in five goals in seven appearances for struggling Barnsley.
It is fair to suggest that McBurnie would have got more service and Villa than Barnsley, which means that he could have scored even more regularly for the Midlands side.

And with Bruce’s side chasing promotion, McBurnie may have been the man to fire them over the line.
Villa still have a chance of grabbing a spot in the top two, but there may be some regret that McBurnie wasn’t brought in.
