Aston Villa are still looking for a striker, but West Bromwich Albion arguably have the best forward in the Championship in their ranks.

With Aston Villa’s striker search still continuing, they must be jealous of their local rivals West Bromwich Albion’s deal for Dwight Gayle.

While Villa were struggling financially, West Brom completed one of the best deals of the summer, by bringing in Gayle.

And Gayle seems like the exact sort of player that Steve Bruce wants to sign for Villa.

The claret and blues are on the look out for a goalscorer, with Shane Long, Tammy Abraham, Lukas Nmecha and Sam Gallagher all linked.

Bruce is known to want to improve his attacking options, and he must be envious that West Brom have a striker of Gayle’s quality in their ranks now.

Gayle has already proven just how big a threat he could be at the Hawthorns this term, after making a bright start to life in a West Brom shirt.

Gayle has hit one goal and claimed three assists in his first three appearances for Darren Moore’s side.

And Bruce must be slightly jealous that his side’s near rivals were able to snap up Gayle, while Villa are still hunting around for a striker.
