Aston Villa are reportedly moving to make Thierry Henry their new manager.

Whilst links to the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Rui Faria continue, Thierry Henry remains the odds-on favourite to become the new Aston Villa manager.
Villa sacked Steve Bruce last week after a run of one win in nine games, and the search is now on for a replacement, with a host of names linked.
The Mirror report that former Arsenal hero Henry is set to take the job this week, as he seemingly prepares to leave his role as a coach of the Belgian national team in favour of his first managerial post.
Much will be expected of Henry, and one of his priorities when the transfer window opens in January will be to bring in a new centre back, with Villa having a host of problems at the back this term.
Henry may have targets in mind ahead of taking the job, and Celtic’s Dedryck Boyata makes perfect sense for Villa in January for a number of reasons.
The first being that Henry has already worked closely with Boyata. The central defender was in the Belgium squad for this summer’s World Cup, meaning Henry saw his qualities on a daily basis in training and games.

That existing knowledge should instantly put Boyata on Henry’s radar, and he could also be a bargain for Villa given that he is out of contract at the end of the season and may be available for a cut-price fee.
Henry should be well aware of that, and handing a return to England for the ex-Manchester City talent may be appealing, as may reuniting with Henry, and a move for Boyata should be a priority for Villa when the transfer market re-opens, with his Celtic future unclear.
