Aston Villa want Moussa Dembele and could now move to sign the Everton target as a replacement for West Ham United-bound Danny Ings.
That’s according to Foot Mercato over in France, who claim that Villa would ideally like to sign Dembele this summer.
Dembele is out of contract at the end of the season and can leave Lyon for free in just a few months.
Yet with Ings now being sold to West Ham, it can’t be ruled out that Villa will bring forward their move and sign Dembele right now.
The report even claims that Unai Emery has been a long-standing admirer of Dembele and wanted to sign him for both Paris Saint-Germain and Villarreal.
Emery now wants to land his man for Villa, and that move could end up coming this month after the surprise sale of Ings.

Aston Villa interest in Moussa Dembele is a nightmare for Everton
Foot Mercato reported earlier this week that Everton had similar plans for Dembele; to sign him on a free transfer in the summer but maybe bring those plans forward.
The Daily Mail add that Everton have now been offered the chance to sign Dembele as they seek a new striker.
Put simply, Dembele should be appealing to Everton and pretty much any club who want a striker.
Sure, this season has been tricky with Dembele playing second fiddle to Alexandre Lacazette, but his record at Lyon is impressive.
Dembele hit 44 goals in his first two seasons and 22 in his fourth campaign with the French club.
Those are hugely impressive numbers and Dembele was also a goal machine for Celtic too.
Everton desperately need goals and Dembele can provide them – but Aston Villa know that as well.
Villa have big plans and ambitions under Emery and his long-standing interest in Dembele may appeal to the striker.
Beating Villa to a signing like Dembele would be huge for Everton but it’s hard to feel like their interest is anything but a major blow for the Toffees.
Money isn’t exactly flowing at Goodison Park and convincing Dembele to pick a relegation battle at Everton over the ambitions at Villa sounds like a tough ask.
