Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak gives opinion on Steve Bruce suggesting he could change position

Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak has been touted as a future centre-back by Steve Bruce.

Mile Jedinak has told Aston Villa’s official website that he would have no qualms in changing position to help out the team.

Jedinak played part of last season at centre-back, and Steve Bruce has suggested that the Australian international will play his final years in football at centre-back.

At the moment Jedinak still has his eyes set on playing in the defensive midfield role, which he has become familiar with over his lengthy career.

However, Jedinak insists that if Bruce wants to move him into a more defensive role he would not put up any complaints.

“I’ve played in the position before. I feel fine in the position, but I’m enjoying my time playing in midfield and knowing I’m an important part in that regards,” Jedinak said.

“But it’s about what the team needs, and wherever that is for me I will be happy to play my part.”

Jedinak has been unable to feature much for Villa this season due to injury, but he is pushing towards full fitness now.

The 33-year-old’s return will present Bruce with a selection dilemma in the upcoming weeks.

Jedinak has previously been a star player for Villa, but the team have been in great form without him of late.

Villa have won their last four matches to move up into seventh place in the Championship table.

The claret and blues are next in action when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
