Aston Villa are on the hunt for a new manager and while Villans are dreaming of appointing the likes of Mauricio Pochettino or Thomas Tuchel taking charge at Villa Park, those two managers may be slightly out of the Midlands club’s reach right now.
Indeed, Villa may have to go for a less glamorous option this time around, and, in our view, there’s one name that jumps right out at us – Michael Beale.
The current QPR boss is flying in the Championship, taking the R’s to the very top of the second-tier table, and his good form has attracted interest from Wolves.

Beale looked set to join Wolves at one point before being convinced to stay at QPR, but it may be a different story if Villa come calling.
Indeed, Beale could well be tempted into going to Villa Park if he’s offered the job. After all, he’s only just left the Midlands club, so there is an element of loyalty already instilled with Beale at the Clarets, while he also knows the squad and the owners very well.
It may not be a coincidence that Villa’s form under Steven Gerrard tailed off after Beale left the club, and what better way to rekindle that good form than to bring Beale back to the club.
Certain players at Villa Park have spoken very highly of Beale and his training sessions, so it may not be too difficult for the squad to buy into his regime if he took over.
The reality is that Villa do have a talented squad that are punching below their weight right now, and this is a team that needs evolution rather than revolution and perhaps the best way to make that happen is to appoint Beale as Gerrard’s successor.
