Aston Villa have taken Robert Snodgrass on loan from West Ham United.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, West Ham United boss Manuel Pellegrini is planning a mini clear-out, and that could help out Aston Villa in their pursuit of Robert Snodgrass.

Villa didn’t go on to achieve promotion like they had hoped, after losing the play off final, but Steve Bruce has made no secret of his desire to keep Snodgrass at Villa Park.

If David Moyes had remained in charge at West Ham then it would surely have been impossible to get the Scottish winger, as he wanted him back at the London Stadium.

But Pellegrini could be more willing to offload West Ham’s fringe players, putting Villa in the frame again.

The claret and blues may have to offload some of their key earners to make room for the addition of Snodgrass, but he unquestionably would make a fine addition for next season.

Snodgrass has been a key reason why Villa were able to push for promotion, and he has constantly stated how much he has enjoyed his time with the Midlands club.

And although Villa won’t be playing Premier League football next term, their chances of landing Snodgrass may not be completely over yet.
