Aston Villa should have brought in John Terry at the start of the international break if they were going to sign him.

Aston Villa may have missed their golden chance with John Terry, if they are going to sign him.
But if the claret and blues were going to sign him, then this week would have been the perfect time to do so.
Terry missed the whole of pre-season, so the international break could have been ideal for the veteran centre-back to get back on the training ground, with no pressure on him to make an impression in a game for a fortnight.
Terry could have had the whole two weeks to get used to playing with his Villa teammates again and re-settled.
But, now, if Terry does sign – then he will be back training with games on the horizon again.

Villa have their first free weekend of the season coming up, due to the international break, but they are back in the thick of the action again next week.
And now, even if Terry does come back, then it would be a while before he is actually available for selection, as he is sure to be playing catch-up with the rest of the Villa team in terms of fitness, after such a long time without a club.
