Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has praised former Everton left-back Lucas Digne on Sky Sports Premier League (8:20pm, January 15, 2021) for his performance against Manchester United.
Gerrard believes that Digne was “fantastic” for Villa in their 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The 28-year-old left-back joined Villa from Premier League rivals Everton for £25 million only this week.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain left-back made his debut for the Villans against United on Saturday.
Gerrard said: “Lucas Digne was fantastic throughout the 90 minutes.”

In our view, Digne played well for Villa in their 2-2 draw with United.
The 28-year-old defended well and was also a force to be reckoned with when he went forward down his flank.
It was an all-action display from Digne, who demonstrated against the Red Devils why he is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.
Digne took two shots and one was on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 86.4%, won four headers, took 66 touches, attempted one dribble, made one interception and two clearances, and put in six crosses.
In our opinion, Digne is a brilliant signing for Villa and will make Gerrard’s team better.
