Aston Villa’s John McGinn is a reported target for Manchester United this summer.

A lot can change in a year. Just ask John McGinn. Just Ask Jack Grealish. And just ask the Aston Villa supporters.
One year ago, Villa were in financial meltdown, Grealish was seemingly heading out of the Midlands club and McGinn was plying his trade in Scotland. Now, they are all Premier League bound.
But could Manchester United break up that their road to the promised land by potentially securing the services of McGinn this summer?
The Sun have recently claimed that Manchester United are interested in signing McGinn, who is being valued at £50 million by his club.
Depending on where you stand, this type of rumour is either utterly bonkers or Villa should start to fret that a team like United, who are in transition and have been signing fairly untested British talent, could come for McGinn.
If Villa do somehow lose their 2018 summer signing then it would arguably be a bigger blow than them losing Grealish, who is regarded as their best player.

Whilst Grealish is the poster boy, the captain of the club, and the boyhood Villa fan, McGinn is the underrated figure that added something different to Villa’s midfield last term.
His energy levels, the bite in his play, his ability to drive with the ball, his ability to protect the ball and score wonder goals were just some of the great things he did for the club during their promotion from the Championship.
Simply put, that would be very hard to replace. And one of the last things Dean Smith will want to deal with ahead of the new season.
Whilst United have signed a Daniel James, who just like McGinn is untested in England’s top-flight, most Villa fans won’t be too worried yet about their rumoured interest.
