Aston Villa have racked up a 10th straight Championship win, having beaten Millwall 1-0 on Monday afternoon, guaranteeing their playoff place.

Villa have beaten Derby County, Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United, Bristol City, Bolton Wanderers and now Millwall in a stunning run.

Dean Smith’s side started this run in midtable, and Monday’s 1-0 win now means that Villa are guaranteed a playoff spot, with Jonathan Kodjia scoring the only goal of the game.

It’s now more than two months since Villa lost a game, and they will be the feared team in the playoffs given this blistering run of form.

One player who played a key role was defender Kortney Hause, though he has missed the last four games through injury, curtailing his impact at least for now.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee arrived in January, and after a slow start at Villa Park, ended up forming a strong centre back partnership with Tyrone Mings in Smith’s back four.

Hause will be looking to return and feature in the playoffs, and has now showed his growing love for Villa by taking to Instagram to post a photo surrounded by old Villa shirts, which will give some fans a great sense of nostalgia as the club look to return to the Premier League.
