Aston Villa are said to be interested in Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah.

Nathaniel Chalobah would be a highly impressive signing for Aston Villa, given Troy Deeney’s previous comments about the Watford man.

The Express and Star have reported how Villa are looking to sign Chalobah on loan until the end of the season.

And although he wouldn’t be a permanent addition, Chalobah could bring a lot of class to Villa’s midfield.

Indeed, his current Watford teammate, Deeney, believes that the England youth international will go on to be worth £50 million in the future.

“Chalobah is an unbelievable footballer, he makes football look easy he glides, it’s effortless,” he said to Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

“He hasn’t come to Watford just to settle, he wants to kick on again and show why he was at Chelsea in the first place. He’s still a kid in terms of growing into his body but his mentality is like a man. He came through a hard school at Chelsea, Drogba, Terry, Lampard didn’t let him cut corners.

“I think in 18 months, playing week in week out you’re talking about a £50million player. Easy.”

The comments from Deeney should excite Villa fans over what Chalobah could do in the Champioship.

Dean Smith already has some good options in midfield, but Chalobah would be able to dictate play from a deep midfield position.

With Villa looking to retain possession far more now than they did under Steve Bruce, the Watford man could be an ideal fit.

And if the Villans can get a deal done before the transfer window closes then the Villa Park crowd should be excited over what Chalobah could offer them.
