Aston Villa reportedly wanted Jean-Kevin Augustin over the summer.

RB Leipzig striker Jean-Kevin Augustin was a wanted man over the summer – and he’s finally got himself a move away from the German side.
Augustin, 22, was in the Paris Saint-Germain ranks before deciding to move on to Leipzig in 2017, seemingly in search of greater first-team opportunities.
That didn’t exactly materialise as Timo Werner and Yussuf Poulsen remained as Leipzig’s first-choice pairing, but Augustin did still manage 20 goals in 67 games for the Bundesliga club.
Augustin was expected to move on again this summer, and Aston Villa were keen on luring him to the Premier League to bolster Dean Smith’s striking options.
The Birmingham Mail reported last month that Villa had held initial talks with Leipzig about a deal for Augustin, having played them in a pre-season friendly.
Augustin was seemingly viewed as a player to come in and support Wesley in the Villa attack, but they couldn’t get a move done before the transfer deadline.

Now though, Augustin has made his move, heading back to Ligue 1 having joined Monaco on loan with an option of a permanent move at the end of the season.
Any hope of Villa rekindling their interest in January has now been killed off, and that may be a source of frustration having seemingly wanted him before the deadline.
