Aston Villa have made a bid for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, according to The Daily Mail.
What’s the story?
It is being reported this afternoon (5:05pm) that Villa have bid £25 million for the winger.
However, that offer has been turned down by German club Bayer.
Bailey, 23, is open to a move to the Premier League.
Could a transfer happen?
Bayer rejecting Villa’s bid for Bailey means one of two things.
Either the Bundesliga club want more money or they do not want to sell the Jamaica international winger at all.
Now, every player has his price.
Pretty much every club in the world will sell if they are presented with an offer they simply cannot refuse.

Perhaps the Villans need to increase their bid for Bailey, who is rated very highly.
Former Ajax and Barcelona star Ronald de Boer has said previously that the winger is “exceptional” and “has no weak points”, as quoted on talkSPORT in March 2020.
Bailey scored nine goals and gave eight assists in the Bundesliga and scored five goals and gave two assists in the Europa League last season.
Bailey is playing for Jamaica at the Concacaf Gold Cup at the moment, and it is likely that any potential transfer will not happen until after his participation in the competition.
