Aston Villa picked up another win in the Championship today, defeating Fulham 1-0 at Villa Park. A magnificent goal from Jonathan Kodjia did the trick for Villa late in the game and Steve Bruce has now already led the side to more Championship wins than his predecessor Roberto Di Matteo.

Kodjia was undoubtedly the hero once again and his moment of acrobatic glory certainly had some former Villa heroes cheering his name on Twitter.

Ian Taylor, a former Villa midfielder, went crazy after he scored the goal that gave Villa the lead, sending out this Tweet:

He went on to congratulate Villa on the win, whilst another Aston Villa legend also had his say. Paul McGrath had praise for Jonathan Kodjia after the win:

Lee Hendrie, another former Villa favourite, was also happy with the win – sending out this message:

Meanwhile, Stan Collymore appeared to be taking credit for the result again. The former Villa striker has made a habit of posting ‘Drawston Villa’ on his Twitter account – in reference to the amount of games his old club have drawn this season.

Lately however, that has become a curse on the other team, with Villa always seeming to score after he sends the Tweet.

Today was no different:

But Villa’s win today was not down to a hex. It came from some hard work and a moment of magic. If Bruce can keep this form up then there will plenty more happy tweets where these came from.
