It looks like Aston Villa might be missing out on Tammy Abraham this summer.

The Chelsea hitman joined the Villans on loan last summer and played a huge role in their Premier League promotion after netting 26 Championship goals.

As a result, it was reported that Aston Villa would have to pay around £25 million to sign him on a permanent basis. [The Mirror].

Dean Smith snapped up Wesley Moraes for £3 million less earlier in the window, but The Birmingham Mail claimed at the time that the Brazilian’s arrival did not mean that Abraham would not be returning to Bodymoor Heath.

But going by what the 21-year-old told Chelsea’s official website today, Smith might as well move on other targets.

He said: “I am more ready than ever for the season to start. I had a good season last season, and now I am here at the club I have always dreamed of playing for. I just have to take my chance.”

It looks like Abraham has no plans on leaving West London, and here’s how Aston Villa icon Paul McGrath reacted on Twitter:
