Aaron Tshibola made a rare appearance for Aston Villa against Cardiff City.

Ian Taylor has praised the performance of Aaron Tshibola, after he was given a rare chance for Aston Villa against Cardiff City.

Tshibola started the season in Villa’s first team, but since Steve Bruce took charge the central midfielder’s opportunities have been limited.

Tshibola’s appearance against Cardiff was only his second for Villa’s first time since Bruce was appointed back in October.

And although the 22-year-old was unable to stop Villa from falling to defeat in Wales, Taylor still messaged the youngster on social media website Twitter to praise his performance.

Tshibola came on at half-time against Cardiff, after Villa had fallen 1-0 behind in the fixture.

The claret and blues were unable to turn things around after Joe Ralls’ early strike for Cardiff, but they did improve in the second half.

Tshibola could now be involved for Villa in their next match, which comes against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup.

Villa’s defeat to Cardiff has left them in 12th place in the Championship table – seven points away from the top six.
