Clinton Morrison praised Leeds United on Sky Sports News (12:26pm, April 10, 2021) and pointed out that they have done better this season despite spending much less than Aston Villa in 2019-20.

The former Crystal Palace forward said that Leeds have spent £100 million and have done much better under head coach Marcelo Bielsa than Villa did under Dean Smith in 2019-20.

The Sky Sports pundit noted that Villa spent a lot more last season on players and almost got relegated from the Premier League.

Leeds have been superb in their first season back in the Premier League since 2004 and could end up in the top 10.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Leeds spent £96.10 million on new players for this season, while Villa splashed out £143.19 million in 2019-20.

Morrison said on Sky Sports News (12:26pm, April 10, 2021): “I didn’t know they spent over £100 million. That is a lot of money. Aston Villa last season spent £160 million, and they nearly got relegated. So you have to credit Bielsa. He knows what he is doing.”

Impressive Leeds United

Leeds have to be praised for the way they are playing and the results they are getting this season.

The West Yorkshire outfit won against Manchester City in the Premier League at the weekend despite playing the second half with 10 men.

Leeds have been a wonderful watch and have impressed pundits such as Gary Neville.
