Aston Villa are said to be interested in appointing Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic are understandably reluctant to let go of Rodgers, and the Bhoys boss has suggested he is happy to stay.
However, Villa are still thought to be interested in the 45-year-old boss, and for £2.5 million he could turn out to be a bargain.
Villa’s new owners have already proven that they have funds to spend, and a £2.5 million release clause is unlikely to be enough to put them off.

Indeed, Rodgers’ managerial experience means that the price looks to be a good one.
Rodgers has almost led Liverpool to a Premier League title, he has managed in the Champions League and guided Swansea City to promotion from the Championship, earlier in his career.
These are all boxes which should surely appeal to Villa, and if he is only set to cost them £2.5 million, then he should still be considered a very smart investment.
