Grealish marked his return from injury with a superb volley in Saturday’s 4-0 Championship win over Derby County.

Aston Villa were back to their ferocious best as they ran out 4-0 winners over a lacklustre Derby County outfit in Saturday’s Championship encounter at Villa Park.

It took Dean Smith’s side just nine minutes to open the scoring, Conor Hourihane slotting home after Tammy Abraham nudged the ball into his path.

The Chelsea loanee then turned goalscorer in the 37th minute when Ahmed El Mohamady’s delivery was turned into the net at the far post, Scott Carson beaten once again.

With the first half still going on, Abraham once again set up Hourihane to seal his brace from close range, before the returning Jack Grealish delivered a moment to remember.

In first-half injury time, Glenn Whelan’s corner to the edge of the penalty area found the 23-year-old, who cleanly struck a volley into the far top corner of the Derby net.

Abraham, Grealish and Anwar El Ghazi could all have added yet more goals after the break as Frank Lampard lost out in the battle of the Chelsea legends to John Terry’s employers.

During the game, John McGinn – who completed his two-match suspension for 10 yellow cards – sent a Twitter message to Grealish following his screamer:

The Villa Twitter account retweeted their player’s message and some fans shared their thoughts, comparing Grealish’s goal to McGinn’s effort against Sheffield Wednesday in September:
