Aston Villa want Joao Felix and are now considered to be ‘well-positioned’ to sign the Atletico Madrid attacker during the January transfer window.
Villa have appointed Unai Emery as their new manager and that means plenty of rumours linking La Liga players with moves to Villa Park.
A number of Villarreal players have been linked, including Pau Torres, Nicolas Jackson and Samuel Chukwueze.
Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has even been mentioned and now a player from across Spain’s capital is being linked with Villa.

Aston Villa want Joao Felix
Spanish newspaper Marca report that Villa are suddenly leading the race to sign Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix.
Felix was in action for Portugal as they hammered Switzerland 6-1 at the World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday night, turning in a superb performance.
Marca claim that Jorge Mendes is working hard to make sure that Felix ends up going to Villa in January.
It’s even claimed that Atletico chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin has been negotiating with Villa and they are now best-placed to sign Felix.
Atletico Madrid forked out a staggering £113million to sign Felix from Benfica back in 2019, believing that he would be the future of their attack.
Yet it has become clear that Felix and Diego Simeone just aren’t a good fit for each other and the Portugal ace needs to move on.
Give Me Sport have reported that Arsenal decision-makers really like Felix and would be interested in luring him to North London.
The Gunners are surely exploring Felix’s situation with Gabriel Jesus now potentially facing months on the sidelines through injury.
Yet if Arsenal want to sign Felix, they will seemingly have to beat their former boss Unai Emery to his signature.
It still feels completely crazy for Villa to be leading the race for a player like Felix; not that Villa aren’t a big club, but Felix would be an enormous coup if Emery and Mendes can somehow pull it off in January.
We can’t this one happening but stranger transfers have materialised and Mendes could be the key.
