An Aston Villa employee has responded on Twitter to some fans of the Premier League outfit urging the club to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester United.

What’s the story?

Okay, so here’s the story.

The Birmingham Mail have done a piece about some Villa fans wanting the club to make a move for United attacking midfielder Lingard.

The former West Ham United loanee is struggling for playing time at the Red Devils at the moment.

Lingard has played 45 minutes in the Premier League for United so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.

Now, we have to make it clear that there are no credible reports yet that Villa want to sign the 28-year-old, who can also operate as a winger.

Cryptic tweet

Villa employee Tommy Jordan has responded to the story in The Birmingham Mail, as you can see below.

Jordan is the Communications Director at Villa.

As you can see, the tweet is an emoji and is quite cryptic.

However, we have to ask why Jordan would respond to the story in the first place.

It is not as if he was asked about Villa and Lingard, who earns £110,000 per week as salary at United, according to The Sun.

Jordan took the initiative himself to respond to it.

Why?
