Dean Smith’s Villans finally got off the mark in the Premier League this term with their 2-0 win over Everton.

Aston Villa legend Ian Taylor was loving life on Friday night as his beloved Villans claimed their first Premier League win since returning to the top flight, defeating Everton 2-0 at Villa Park.
Wesley Moraes drew first blood against the Toffees with his first goal since his summer move from Club Brugge, rifling home a close-range effort from Jota’s incisive pass in the 21st minute.
Although Alex Iwobi hit the post in the latter stages of the game and Theo Walcott wasted a great opportunity for Everton, there would be no late comeback as Anwar El Ghazi made sure of victory with a 95th-minute strike.
The result lifted Dean Smith’s side up to 11th in the fledgling Premier League table and also put to bed once and for all the annoying statistic regarding Jack Grealish having ‘lost 20 Premier League games in a row’.
As well as providing a brief but very delighted take on the result, Taylor also responded to Gary Lineker’s tweet about the psychological boost of the win, as well as on Grealish’s response to finally ending his ‘losing streak’.
Up next for Villa is their Carabao Cup trip to Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night before heading to Selhurst Park at the weekend to lock horns with Crystal Palace.
