Steve Bruce’s side have turned the corner and are looking to end this season in style.
Aston Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia scores their second goal
Aston Villa have already started preparing their promotion push for next season following their 2-0 victory of Norwich City, and they seem intent on ending this season as strongly as possible.
It’s a fairly common occurrence for teams in midtable to tail off towards the end of the campaign, pulling off the odd result, as their season is over and there’s nothing left to play for.
Villa on the other hand, seem determined to end what’s otherwise been a disappointing year on a bang, with Steve Bruce’s side winning six out of their last seven matches.
But for that horrific nine match winless run, seven of which Villa lost, and a play-off spot could still be on the cards, with Villa currently 10 points behind sixth placed Fulham.

Undeterred however, it seems Bruce wants to make sure his Villa side end this season with some serious momentum, which could then bubble over into pre-season and into the start of the new campaign.
Barring a very surprising set of results, Villa will remain in the Championship for the 2017/18 season, but with Bruce at the helm and the way things are going, they could well be a force to be reckoned with from the get go.
