West Ham United winger Grady Diangana will undergo a medical at West Bromwich Albion today, but Aston Villa have still not given up on signing him, according to Sky Sports.

West Brom have agreed to pay West Ham an initial transfer fee of £12 million and £6 million in add-ons for the services of Diangana, according to the report.

The winger is scheduled to undergo a medical at the Baggies today, but Villa, Fulham and Ajax still remain interested in the 22-year-old and have still not given up on signing the youngster, according to the report.

Stats

Diangana played an important role in West Brom winning automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of last season.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old made 23 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Championship for Slaven Bilic’s side last season, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in the process.

Disappointment for Aston Villa?

While Villa may not have given up on Diangana yet, it does seem that he is on his way to West Brom, and the Villans will be disappointed in their quest to sign the winger.

After all, with a medical scheduled for today, it does appear that the winger is closing in on a move to West Brom on a permanent contract.

Diangana is a very skilful and creative player who “whenever he starts or comes off the bench he makes something happen”, according to comments from Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer in LondonNewsOnline on October 24, 2019.
