Nyland only joined Aston Villa in the summer from German side FC Ingolstadt.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Orjan Nyland has posted a big update on Instagram as he continues his recovery from an achilles rupture, with a video of the Norwegian in the gym at the club’s training ground Bodymoor Heath.
The 28-year-old suffered the ankle injury in training at the start of January and was forced ton undergo an operation to correct the issue. Sky Sports claim he will be ruled out until the end of the campaign.
Nyland was signed by Steve Bruce as the club’s number one and continued in that role when Bruce was replaced by Dean Smith. He has clocked up 23 appearances for the Midslands club, conceding 34 goals and keeping six clean sheets.
Villa signed goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic in January and then the Norway international suffered the injury, coming as somewhat of a double blow to Nyland. But he has posted a video on Instagram, as he takes the next step in his recovery.
Nyland has now missed Villa’s last seven Championship fixtures, and is expected to miss the rest of the campaign at Villa Park. It remains to be seen whether he would have been first choice, or back-up to Kalinic.
The former Molde FK goalkeeper had come under scrutiny for a number of his performances between the sticks, but is now looking to “come back stronger” and rival Kalinic for a place in goal.
