Jed Steer is set to remain on the Aston Villa sidelines for the rest of the season.

Aston Vila goalkeeper Jed Steer has informed fans on Twitter that a shoulder operation “went really well” but claimed he could miss the rest of the season due to the problem.
The 25-year-old suffered a dislocated shoulder earlier this month and surgery was required to fix the problem, which is likely to see fellow back-up goalkeeper Mark Bunn move from third into second in the goalkeeper rankings at Villa Park.

The former Huddersfield Town goalkeeper has managed just four appearances this season, playing three times in the Carabao Cup and once in the FA Cup as Sam Johnstone remains first choice.
Posting on Twitter, Steer included a picture of himself strapped up in hospital after the operation and informed fans that the operation was a success before calling on his teammates to gain promotion in his absence.
Steer joined Villa in 2013 from Norwich City and has remained as a back-up goalkeeper since, with the two-time England Under-19 international joining Huddersfield, Yeovil Town and Doncaster Rovers on loan throughout his career.
Former England goalkeeper Ray Clemence lead the replies to Steer, wishing him the “best of luck” with his recovery and stating he has a “great future” ahead of him.
