Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is hugely impressed with the club’s academy prospects as he gets down to work at Bodymoor Heath.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that Gerrard is excited by the quality of Villa’s young talents coming through the ranks.
The three players named as being particularly promising for Gerrard are Carney Chukwuemeka, Jaden Philogene-Bidace and Aaron Ramsey.
Gerrard’s record at bringing prospects through at Rangers wasn’t great outside of right back Nathan Patterson.
Villa may now hope that Gerrard has what he wants in terms of young talent, with those three players tipped for the top.
Chukwuemeka featured in Premier League games towards the end of last season but has played just 63 minutes of league action this season.
The 18-year-old midfielder will ultimately need playing time, and Gerrard – who knows a thing or two about playing as a midfielder – may be able to get the best out of him.

Winger Philogene-Bidace has bagged four goals and one assist in just three Premier League 2 games but has only appeared in one league game.
Jacob Ramsey is already a first-team regular with Villa and brother Aaron will now be hoping to follow in his footsteps.
With four goals and three assists in seven Premier League 2 games this season, Ramsey is shining for Villa and could be promoted to play alongside his brother under Gerrard.
