Leeds United have been lampooned by their Championship rivals Aston Villa.

So it appears safe to say that Leeds United’s unveiling of their new kit has not gone down well with the Elland Road faithful.
The new design, featuring a headless man beating a white-kitted chest and a shockingly poor font choice, has been near universally derided by Leeds fans who are aghast at the apparent months of research and 10,000 people involved with it’s selection…
It has also found itself lampooned online, with some comparing it to the front packet of a Gaviscon bottle. Another common source of ridicule for the new design on Twitter surrounds Pro Evolution Soccer.
The popular Konami game may have consistently had better gameplay options than it’s EA Sports adversary FIFA, but commercially it could not match it for clout. FIFA always had licensed teams whilst Pro Evo often found itself mocked for it’s poor kits, badges and team-names.
Even a rival club has got in on the act. Aston Villa, who face Leeds on the 14th April, just could not resist it…
That will certainly give the game, which was once one of English football’s biggest ties, a little extra edge – whilst both teams will also be gunning for promotion at the time, if the current league table is anything to go by.
One amusing note, given their kit colours, if Villa decided to have a similar design to Leeds, it really would look like the Gaviscon bottle.
