Aston Villa fans have slated Steve Bruce for sending Ross McCormack out on loan, and now want the Scottish international striker brought back, following an interview to Jonathan Kodjia.

Bruce confirmed at his press conference today that Kodjia could be out for a lengthy period of time, after breaking down over the international break.

Villa’s options up-front now look short, with Scott Hogan also on the treatment table.

And claret and blues supporters have claimed that Bruce’s decision to ostracise McCormack now looks like a very poor one.

McCormack is currently on loan in Australia, after he penned a contract until January with Melbourne City.

The 31-year-old appears to have been written off by Bruce, with his future at Villa looking bleak.

McCormack has shown that he can still find the back of the net though, after scoring four times in his first seven games in Australia.

It has not yet been confirmed whether Villa have the option to recall McCormack from his loan spell with Melbourne City.
