Steve Bruce will have multiple selection headaches to decipher after the devastating news that Aston Villa duo Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan have picked up long-term injuries – but fans have encouraged him to start Callum O’Hare.

The Birmingham Mail reported that Kodjia is set for a scan on his ankle after suffering the injury while on international duty with the Ivory Coast, while Scott Hogan has undergone surgery on his stomach and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

With Gabriel Agbonlahor also fighting to return to fitness, Villa are lacking in fire power as Ross McCormack remains on loan with Australian A-League side Melbourne City.

Villa manager Steve Bruce reacts after a near miss during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Middlesbrough at Villa Park on September 12, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

Teenagers Andre Green and Keinan Davis are now Bruce’s only options to start in attack for Villa, but fans believe a complete reshuffle in the final third is required if the Midlands giants are to gain all three points against QPR.

Villa’s number 36 O’Hare has been in explosive form from attacking midfield in Premier League 2 for the club’s reserve side, scoring five goals in six games as well as adding an assist.

It has seen the Solihull-born 19-year-old make six senior appearances for Villa this season and fans are desperate to see him start against QPR, with one supporter claiming it “has to be” O’Hare in behind Davis.
