Aston Villa fans have called for Steve Bruce to be sacked, and they want Dean Smith to come in and replace him.

Brentford boss Smith has impressed Villa fans with his attacking philosophy and willingness to develop youngsters.

And with the claret and blues likely to have to sell some of their higher earners, they feel he could be the prefect boss to take them forward.

Villa lost the play off final 1-0 to Fulham at Wembley yesterday, which leaves them having to offload players to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Villa could be a lot more heavily reliant on their youngsters next season, which may not suit Bruce’s managerial style.

And supporters of the Midlands club are now calling for change, with Smith the man they want to take charge.

Smith has led Brentford to comfortable mid-table finishes over the last two campaigns, despite having a budget which is far smaller than Villa’s.

Bruce has already suggested he will sit down with Villa’s owners to discuss the future of the club, after the claret and blues lost at Wembley yesterday.
