The target-man has scored just two goals for the Eagles, and looks desperately short of confidence.
Villa fans know all about Benteke’s quality though, and they are dreaming of a reunion with the Belgian now.
Benteke blasted in 49 goals in 101 appearances for Villa during his first stint.
And claret and blues fans are hoping that Steve Bruce can guide their side to promotion and then bring Benteke back to Villa Park.
Benteke is on a sizeable wage at Palace, so Villa would have to commit a considerable amount of money towards signing him.
However, his return to Villa Park would be a signal of the Midlands club’s intent, if they are able to win the play offs this season.
