The former Aston Villa striker is returning to Derby County after a spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Andreas Weimann will return to Derby County this summer after Wolverhampton Wanderers opted against turning his loan deal permanent.
Weimann was expected to remain a Wolves player after impressing with three goals and two assists during his time at Molineux, but Paul Lambert’s removal as manager is thought to have ended any chance of the Austrian extending his stay.

In a message to Wolves fans on Twitter earlier today [Tuesday] on Twitter, the former Aston Villa forward wrote: “Thanks to all players,staff and fans @Wolves for making me feel so welcome over the last 5 months – all the best for next season”.
With a new manager at Derby, Weimann’s future is perhaps unclear at this moment in time. But based on the response from a number of Aston Villa supporters to the above message, he will always be welcome back at Villa Park.
Weimann moved to Villa in his teens and impressed for in club’s youth and reserve teams before making his first team breakthrough during the 2011-12 campaign.

The Viennese scored 24 goals and made another 14 in 129 Villans appearances, but was sold to Derby in 2015 by former boss Tim Sherwood.
He became Lambert’s first Wolves signing in January this year, having impressed under the Scot at Villa Park – and a third reunion cannot be ruled out once Lambert returns to employment.
