Mings tagged John McGinn and Tammy Abraham following the 2-1 Championship win over Rovers at Villa Park.

Aston Villa’s surge up the Championship table continues following their fifth league win in a row, beating Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in Saturday’s encounter at Villa Park.
Dean Smith’s charges broke the deadlock after just eight minutes played on the clock as John McGinn and Anwar El Ghazi combined to set up Tammy Abraham for his 22nd of the season, an easy tap-in.
The high-flying West Midlanders then doubled their lead just after the hour mark as Tyrone Mings, a man carving out a name for himself as a Villa legend, headed home his second goal at the Holte End following McGinn’s looping cross.
Blackburn pulled one back in the 74th minute as Jed Steer could not hang on to Charlie Mulgrew’s free kick, parrying it into the path of Amari’i Bell’s path for a close-range finish, but the hosts were able to see out the game to move up to fifth in the table on 60 points.
Despite only joining Villa in January on loan from Bournemouth, the centre-back has become a firm fan favourite at B6 through a combination of his talent, hard work and goals, which have contributed to the team’s upturn in form, as well as his likeable and altruistic personality which has endeared him to the supporters.
After the game, Mings took to Twitter to have his say on how things panned out, also praising McGinn for the delivery and having a bit of banter with Abraham:
Here is how some of the claret and blue faithful responded to him on the social media platform:
