A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on their 5-1 Premier League thrashing of Norwich today and, whilst every player who featured for Dean Smith’s side played well, plenty were pleased to see Villa captain and hometown hero Jack Grealish at his devastating best.

The 24-year-old is very much the club’s current poster boy and, as such, he is subjected to far more scrutiny from opposition fans than some of his others players – one prime example being the pointless statistic about how many Premier League games he’d lost ‘in a row’ earlier in the season.

However, there was virtually nothing that could be criticised about Grealish’s display today as he proved simply too much for the Canaries’ defence to handle, claiming his first of the season on 49 minutes as he ran at the opposition and sweeped home his side’s third of the day.

As reported by BBC Sport, today’s result saw Villa score five goals in a Premier League away game for the first time since April 2008 – a 6-0 win at Derby – and the B6 side became the first promoted team to score five goals away from home in a top-flight match since Bolton at Leicester in August 2001.
