Jack Grealish and Tammy Abraham made the XI but some Villa fans were bewildered by one particular absence.

Two of Aston Villa’s players have been recognised for their efforts this season by being named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year for the 2018-19 campaign.
Jack Grealish may have missed several months through injury but such has his impact been since returning in March that he makes the XI.
Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham has been simply sensational on loan from Chelsea and, with 25 league goals, he is the second highest scorer in the league at present.
Grealish is on the left side of a three-man midfield, with Sheffield United’s Oliver Norwood in the middle and Leeds United’s Pablo Hernandez on the right.
Abraham is the centre-forward in a three-pronged attack, with Norwich City’s Teemu Pukki on his left and Sheff Utd ace Billy Sharp on his right.
The four-man defence is composed of a centre-back pairing of Leeds duo Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson, while Norwich full-backs Jamal Lewis and Max Aarons complete the outfielders.

Completing the XI is Middlesbrough goalkeeper Darren Randolph, the only player from a team outside the playoff places as things stand.
A number of Villa fans took to Twitter to comment on the team, and quite a few were surprised not to see John McGinn in there:
