The Dane had a bright spell at Villa Park in the 2000s.

A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Thomas Sorensen’s photo of himself with fellow B6 legends Olof Mellberg and Martin Laursen, which the club retweeted.
The Scandinavian trio may have hung up their boots a number of years ago but they are still remembered fondly by the Villa faithful, a feeling which is very much reciprocated.
On his personal Twitter account, Sorensen – who is currently holidaying in Spain – shared an image of himself with his former teammates in holiday mode, standing in front of a pool with glasses in their hands.
The Dane tagged Villa’s official Twitter handle and the club eagerly retweeted it, prompting a wave of nostalgia to crash over many Villans faithful, who showed their love in the comments:
Sorensen turned out in goal for Aston Villa between 2003 and 2008, Mellberg was on the books at the Premier League club between 2001 and 2008, and Laursen played for the Villans between 2004 and 2009.
With Villa finally back in the Premier League and optimism at the club at an all-time high, let’s hope that the future crop of players is just as bright as the above trio, who made the claret and blue shirt proud.
